Young Writers Awards
The BBC-GNE Young Writers Awards also presents a challenge for students aged between 16 and 20. Each school may enter up to four students for this competition. The preliminary selection of texts to be entered in the finals is carried out by the school itself. Unlike the Public Speaking Awards, the selected entries go straight through to the National Final. In other words, there are no intermediary rounds. All texts are judged by a professional jury. This jury chooses eight entries for inclusion in the National Final in Amsterdam. There, excerpts from the essays will be read aloud, after which the winner and the runner-up will be announced.
