The National Final of the BBC Young Writers and Public Speaking Awards 2009 will take place at 1.30 pm on 28 March 2009 in Amsterdam, Auditorium of the University of Amsterdam, Singel 411 (corner Spui).

Lucy HockingsOnce again, the final will be presented by Aldith Hunkar, freelance journalist and trainer (photo left).

Special guest speaker at the final will be Lucy Hockings, Presenter, BBC World News (photo right).

Marijk van der WendeThe Dean of Amsterdam University College, Prof. Dr. Marijk van der Wende will start the event with a word of welcome (photo left).

Drs E.A. (Betty) Molt

Lecturer of English and coordinator of the General Professional Skills (English, Dutch and Communication Skills) and the Student Coaching programmes at the School of Engineering & Applied Sciences of the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Rotterdam). Recently, in her spare time, she has also started a PhD study which focuses on the history of technical and maritime English in the Netherlands.
