BBC Awards
BBC Awards

The BBC-GNE Young Writers and Public Speaking Awards (BBC Awards 2009) are organised by the BBC in partnership with the Netherlands-England Society (GNE) and are aimed at young people who strive to achieve excellence in English and make active use of the English language.

These two competitions give students the opportunity to express their opinions to an audience from different generations and various backgrounds. This year’s wide range of topics enables every participant to select something that appeals to him or her personally.

Both BBC Awards offer a great opportunity for young people between 16 and 20 to improve their skills in writing and public speaking. It’s a challenge to express opinions in English, and the experience of participating will certainly be useful in later years. The prizes are absolutely worth competing for but taking part is as important as winning!
