Invitation to Master Classes
Coinciding with the National Final on March 28th in Amsterdam, the BBC Awards is organising two Master Classes, intended to help all participants in this years BBC Awards further develop their English language speaking and writing skills.
Writing Master Class by Lieke Stelling MA
The Writing master class focuses on the structure of an opinion piece /argumentative text. What information goes where in the text? How can you persuade the reader to continue reading?
Ms Stelling is a graduate from Utrecht University and is currently working on her PhD research at
Leiden University.
Her research topic is religious conversion in the drama of Shakespeare and his contemporaries. She has
taught writing classes to students of English.
Speaking Master Class by Blanca Vergara
In this master class you will learn how to structure your speech/presentation and how to build a relationship with your audience.
Ms Vergara is a highly respected executive coach and business consultant. During the last fifteen years, Blanca has committed her passion for innovation and change management to the support of managers and high achieving professionals. Her business knowledge is supported with an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management and a coaching certificate from the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara, California. Blanca is a frequent speaker on personal and professional development, on women, on leadership, on living purposeful careers and lives.
